Standard stereo sound compared to surround sound is like
comparing an AM transistor radio to stereo.
You not only hear the shows and movies, but you feel them too.
Below is a quick diagram of how surround sound is installed.
This is a simple typical layout of a 5.1 surround sound system...note there are 5 speakers, plus something called a sub-woofer for extreme lows.
Here is a little more advanced set up in that there are NO WIRES!!!
Here is is difficult to tell the difference between the furniture and the surround sound system.
This is just a picture to show the components, note that this system is ideal for people who live in apartments or are only renting their home. No wires are buried in the wall.
